Dealer-level access without the dealer

Replacing a module, fixing a "not coded" fault or making a retrofit work properly often needs online access to the manufacturer's servers. That usually means a dealer appointment, a loaner and a bill for diagnostic time. A remote session gets the same job done with the factory software while the car stays where it is.

Popular jobs in the US

Exporting a US car?

Cars shipped from the US to the Middle East, Europe or Asia often need region changes: language, units, lighting functions and radio or navigation region. Many of these are coding changes. Send the VIN and the destination country and I'll tell you what can be converted.

Time zones

I'm on Central European Time. My afternoons and evenings line up with US mornings, so most sessions on the East Coast happen before lunch, and West Coast sessions early in the morning.

What you need

A Windows laptop, a supported interface (VAS 6154, a J2534 pass-thru or a BMW ENET cable), a battery maintainer that holds 13.0–14.0 V and a stable internet connection at the car.

Yes. I can run online jobs for shops that have the car but not the dealer subscription.

Mornings Eastern time are easiest. Other times by arrangement.

Do I need my own ODIS, XENTRY or ISTA?

No. You need the interface and laptop at the car. I run the software.
